Microcement
for walls, floors and bathrooms

Microcement goes on in thin layers, usually 2-3 mm, and gives a smooth monolithic surface with no joints. It can be applied to plaster walls, drywall, wood and even over tile, so the old finish often does not have to be torn out.

Vitaly and I learned the technique in Venice. Preparing the base is about 70% of the result, and it is the one step you cannot rush.

• Walls and accent walls in living rooms, bedrooms and entrances
• Floors that run from room to room with no joins
• Bathrooms and curbless showers, with mandatory waterproofing
• Kitchen surfaces with a protective finish
• Commercial spaces: offices, shops and restaurants

What it costs

Walls ₪600-800 per m², floors ₪650-850, bathrooms and showers ₪700-900, kitchen surfaces ₪750-950. The price includes material, labor and the finishing coat.

The final figure depends on the complexity of the surface, the number of layers and the condition of the base. The minimum order is usually 15-20 m². A small accent wall may be priced per project, which we clarify at the measurement.

How we work

1. Measuring. We look at the surface, count the area and talk through color and texture
2. Preparation. We fix cracks and uneven spots, the base has to be stable, clean and dry
3. Primer. We apply a primer made for microcement
4. Layers. Two or three thin layers with drying time between them
5. Finish. A protective coat, and in wet areas a waterproof one is mandatory
