An accent wall is one of the simplest ways to give an entire room character without touching the rest of the space. And increasingly, instead of patterned wallpaper or tile, people are choosing microcement: it gives a deep, living texture that no factory-made surface can match.

Why microcement specifically

Microcement has no seams, no repeating pattern, and none of the glossy "plastic" look of wallpaper. Every wall comes out unique — subtle tonal shifts, barely visible trowel marks, a living texture you want to touch. This is a case where the imperfection of handwork is the main selling point.

Where it works well

Microcement vs. other accent wall options

Microcement:

  • Completely seamless surface at any size
  • Depth and texture that shift under different lighting
  • Durable with the right finish coat

Wallpaper / decorative panel:

  • Visible seams and a repeating pattern
  • A flat surface with no play of light
  • Shorter lifespan — fades, scratches, peels at the corners
  • Faster and cheaper up front

Choosing a color and texture

An accent wall usually gets a richer or more contrasting tone than the rest of the room — deep graphite, warm terracotta, sandy beige. The texture can be smooth, almost silky, or lightly textured, emphasizing the depth of the surface.

The feeling microcement creates

Clients almost always describe the feeling of a wall like this with the same words: calm, stability, reliability. A dense, matte surface with no gloss and no sharp lines doesn't pull attention — it becomes a backdrop the eye can rest on. A home with a wall like this feels sturdier, almost protected — exactly the sense of relaxation you want to feel coming home.

What it costs

Pricing for an accent wall is the same as for a regular microcement wall — ₪600–800 per m². But since an accent wall is usually small (6–12 m²), a project minimum may apply — we'll confirm this at the first site visit along with measurements.

How long it takes

A single accent wall usually takes 2–3 days of work: surface prep, priming, 2–3 coats of microcement with drying time between each, and a finish coat. Much faster than a full room renovation.

Our experience

An accent wall is one of the most rewarding projects we do: a small area and a short timeline deliver maximum impact on the whole room. It's often the first step for clients who are curious about microcement but aren't ready to renovate their entire home yet.
