According to surveys, apartment renovation is considered one of the five most stressful events in family life. Why? Because most renovations end with delays, budget overruns, and conflicts with the contractor. But we believe it doesn't have to be this way.
Mistake #1: Not setting a clear budget upfront
One of the most common mistakes is entering renovation with a "flexible" budget. The solution: get a detailed quote with every item and material, and demand a contract with a fixed price.
Mistake #2: Not setting a timeline in the contract
Demand a binding completion date in the contract. A serious contractor won't object — they'll plan the work accordingly.
Mistake #3: Not checking references
Ask for at least 3 previous clients you can call. Ask: did they meet deadlines? Were there budget surprises?
Mistake #4: Not supervising the work
Visit the site at least twice a week. A contractor who knows they're being watched works differently.
Mistake #5: Not planning the finish in advance
The finish is what you see every day — invest in it. Microcement, Venetian plaster, decorative painting — these are what create the home you dreamed of.
At Maria & Vitaly, transparency and precision are our core values. Fixed final price, binding schedule, personal supervision at every stage.
